• JFK Museum - Hyannis, Massachusetts

Located in the community where the Kennedy clan kept a home on Cape Cod, the JFK Museum is a small facility, but packed with photographs, video clips and memorabilia, both well-known and rare, related to the life, career and legacy of the 35th president. Some of the photos now on display include candid shots by photographer Jacques Lowe, who spent 3 years taking some 40,000 photos of Kennedy and his family. These photos were restored from contact sheets after the negatives, stored in the World Trade Center, were destroyed. They sometimes show glimpses of JFK's world that the public normally didn't see. There's also currently an exhibit on Robert Kennedy.

      If you go:
Open daily, with hours varying slightly by season. A good way to take in the sights of this colorful seaside town is to walk the Kennedy Legacy Trail, a 1.6 mile route marked with locations of significance to the Kennedy family.
