Located in the back of a piano store, this little gem of a museum offers an amazingly rich collection of musical treasures and oddities. There are elaborate music boxes and amusement park items, gramophones and other sound reproduction devices, rare and old instruments from all over the world (including a hurdy-gurdy and an organ grinder's organ), and many other surprises. Some of the exhibits pay tribute to the state of Virginia's music stars including Pearl Bailey, Patsy Cline, Ella Fitzgerald, The Carter Family and The Statler Brothers. And Wayne Newton has a room all to himself, possibly because it includes one of his luxury automobiles. Be sure to play the videos at various locations in the museum to see the instruments and implements in action.

      If you go:
Open Mon.-Fri. 10-5, Sat. 10-4. Closed Sunday. Additional parking in rear.
