The site of a Mississippian culture village that was abandoned about 500 years ago after being occupied for centuries, Chucalissa's outdoor display features mounds and a recreated period dwelling, as well as a hiking trail and arboretum that showcases the plant life used by ancient Native American residents. Indoors, the C.H. Nash Museum exhibits artifacts, photos and dioramas. There's also a hands-on archaeology lab. Located next to T.O. Fuller State Park, which offers outdoor recreation and camping.
