• Colorado River Museum - Bullhead City, Arizona

See photos of the Bull's Head rock for which Bullhead City is named - now submerged. Artifacts from the Fort Mojave Indian tribe show life before and after Fort Mojave was built to help "tame the West." You'll see steamboat models and photos and what the Colorado River looked like when water freely flowed from the Rocky Mountains to the Gulf of Mexico. Beale's Camel expedition crossed the river in 1858 here too. And, the museum collection would not be complete without an old slot machine from early Laughlin, located right across the river.

      If you go:
The museum is typically open Tuesday through Friday, 10am to 4pm September through May. A room is available for research. A $5 donation is requested. Ample parking.
