      Experience the cultures of 6 Pacific Island groups (Hawaii, Tonga, Tahiti, Fiji, Samoa and Aotearoa), each represented by its own little village peopled by its natives in traditional attire. They will demonstrate arts, crafts, music, dance and games, and even give you the chance to learn and participate in these activities. And you can cap it off with a lavish traditional luau for dinner, followed by a spectacular show in the amphitheater. Yes, fire dancing will be on the bill.

      If you go:
      Open 12 to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The Center is owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but it is not a religious attraction, and there is no proselytizing. The Center is next to one of Hawaii's fabulous beaches, so if you feel so inclined you can take some time away from immersion in Polynesian culture to bathe or sunbathe. By state law, Hawaii beaches are free and open to the public.

        We were is Hawaii last December, but never made it to the Polynesian Culture Center. It was on our wish list, but ran out of time. Maybe next time. It looks like a great tourist attraction. Family members on the island recommended it and said we would have enjoyed it.
