A luxurious cruise ship from 1936 to 1967, the Queen Mary is now a luxurious and unique hotel and tourist attraction. If staying aboard is too rich for your blood, you at least can take a guided or self-guided tour, and even a paranormal tour, as ghosts and the supernatural figure into the ship's distinguished lore. There are also fine dining options available, including a deservedly famous Sunday champagne brunch. And you can tour The Scorpion, the old Russian submarine docked next to the ship.

      If you go:
Parking is extra, though reasonably priced, and you even get the first half hour free. The cruise terminal next to the Queen Mary was constructed to house the Howard Hughes experimental plane Spruce Goose, which now has been moved to McMinnville,Oregon.
