      This picturesque lighthouse, located at the easternmost tip of Cape Jellison as it juts out into Penobscot Bay, dates back to 1857 (it replaced the 1835 structure) and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located in Ford Point State Park which occupies 120 acres of land on a peninsula offering panoramic views of the Penobscot River and Penobscot Bay, and more than a mile of rocky shore.

      Facilities at Ford Point State Park include picnic tables with waterfront views, pier and floats for fishing and boating, and walking /cycling trails. Interpretive signs provide information on the military and maritime history of Fort Point.
