The third and tallest of three statues to commemorate the men who labored in Tulsa's busy oil drilling trade, The Golden Driller, which incorporates an actual oil derrick, was erected in 1966. At 75 feet, it's the fifth tallest statue in the nation. It stands in front of the Tulsa Expo Center, home of the Tulsa State Fair. At various times during the year, the Expo Center is host to expositions, concerts, horse racing and rodeos.
