• The Arboretum at Flagstaff - Flagstaff, Arizona

      The mission of the arboretum is to display and conserve plants native to northern Arizona and the Colorado Plateau. Walk along shaded paths in the forest, visit the Butterfly Garden, enjoy flowers and native birds. Free garden tours offered daily; specialty tours offered periodically. Check the calendar for special events.

      If you go:
      Open season is April 15 through October 31. Hours 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. closed Tuesdays. Admission is charged with discounts for seniors, military and youth and includes the Butterfly House. Dogs are admitted, on a trial basis and must pay a separate admission and owners must agree to their policies. People with limited mobility may arrange to ride in a golf cart during scheduled tours. Call ahead at least 30 minutes before the tour. Gift shop, picnic tables. About 3 miles of the road is unpaved dirt forest road suitable for all vehicles. RVs and buses have a parking area.
