• Ghost Ranch - Abiquiu, New Mexico

With a long, colorful history as a domain of dinosaurs, the site of a vanished Native American pueblo, a former haven for cattle rustlers, a dude ranch, and the hangout of famed artist Georgia O'Keefe, Ghost Ranch is now an education and retreat center. Lodging and meals are available to individuals participating in guided tours, horseback rides and other recreational activities, or workshops in subjects including sketching, archaeology, jewelry making and spirituality. Or you can just drop in for a day. A fee of only 5 dollars gives you access to scenic hiking trails as well as admission to the Florence Hawley Ellis Museum of Anthropology and the Ruth Hall Museum of Paleontology.

      If you go:
Welcome Center open 8 to 6 daily, all year long. RV and tent camping available.
