• Snow Canyon State Park - Ivins, Utah

      Colorful red Navajo sandstone capped by black lava rock make this state park a beautiful draw for visitors. Lesser known yet close to St. George, Utah, it has petrified sand dunes, cinder cones, lava tubes, petroglyphs and many other stunning features that make this a photographer's and hiker's delight. Come for the day or camp overnight.

      If you go:
      Open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. for day use; RV and tent camping sites in the park. Picnic areas and restroom available. Fee - discount for Utah seniors. Photography, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and camping are popular activities. Spring and fall are the best times of year.
