There is more to the Pahrump Valley Museum than one would expect. Inside, they have a good assortment of relics from the early pioneers and native peoples of the area, and a very in-depth gallery devoted to Yucca Mountain and the Nevada Test Site. The outdoor exhibits are equally impressive. The original Pahrump schoolhouse and Pahrump General Store buildings have both been relocated behind the museum and are open to the public. The first town ambulance, a collection of old farming tractors, hay balers and other farming equipment are also on display.

      If you go:
This is a free museum, but donations are greatly appreciated. The museum is very kid friendly and a great stop for the young ones. The usual hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
