This privately owned attraction consists of a number of replica buildings built exactly as they would have been by 19th century pioneers (such as the Ingalls family). As well as two impressive prairie sod houses, < there's a dug out, a small log cabin and an sod outhouse. All can be explored indoors as well as out, and period furniture gives a good impression of just how basic life must have been. /div>

      If you go:
Tours are self-guided. If no-one is in at the farmhouse, drop your admission fee ($4 a head, free for children 6 and under) into the payment box and follow the trails through the tall grass prairie. Open daily from sunrise to sunset - closed for winter.
