The Historic Railroad Trail offers both a look into local history as well as fantastic views of Lake Mead. The trail follows the path of the Hoover Dam Railroad which was built to connect the dam with Boulder City and the various facilities needed to supply the dam's construction. The highlight of the trail is the five oversized railroad tunnels that you walk through. Due to extreme heat, it is not recommended to attempt the trail during the summer months.

      If you go:
The trail starts out with a fairly steep climb but then is mostly even. The first tunnel is about a mile from the start of the trail. There are restrooms in the parking lot. The trail is free because it begins just before you enter the Lake Mead fee area. Bicycling is allowed on the trail.
