At the heart of this park is a replica of the fort / stockade built by the Corps of Discovery to provide much needed shelter over the winter of 1805-06. During the summer season, rangers in period costume demonstrate skills such as shooting, tanning and moccasin-making. Trails range from short walks through the woods and along the Lewis and Clark River, to the 6.5 mile one-way Fort to Sea Trail which, as it name suggests, leads through forests, fields and dunes to the coast.
