According to legend, Davy Crockett was born in a log cabin on a mountaintop in Tennessee beside the Nolichucky River. Well, it wasn't really on a mountaintop, but the rest of the account is true. And the log cabin is still there - actually, a very realistic replica - in this 105 acre state park that also includes a full-service campground. You can fish in the scenic river or take a hike on one of the fine nature trails, in addition to enjoying special activities that teach about the historical significance of the site.
