The Truman home has been renovated and is open for tours. As presidential homes go, it is a modest one, and originally belonged to Bess' parents. The famous Truman hat and overcoat still hang on a hook off the kitchen and are said to be exactly as he hung them the final time he removed them.

      If you go:
Admission to the Truman Home is by guided tour only. Each tour is limited to 8 people. Tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and must be purchased at the visitor center on the day of the tour. Tickets may sell out by early afternoon on weekends, holidays, and daily during the summer season.
