Yuma's once neglected riverside area has undergone something of a transformation in recent years, benefiting from an estimated $100 million investment. Today, parks and walkways allow access to the Colorado River and two outstanding attractions - Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park and Yuma Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park - offer a window into Yuma's fascinating past and its importance as a crossing point.

The Quartermaster Depot is also home to the visitor center. Next door to this is Pivot Point Plaza, an outdoor museum with interpretive panels that explain the importance of the Yuma Crossing National Historic Landmark.
