Few visitors driving through the heart of the Mojave desert will expect to happen upon 13 ghostly, life-size figures representing Christ and his 12 disciples but that's precisely what you'll see when you visit Goldwell Open Air Museum, about four miles west of Beatty. This free-to-enter site is home to a collection of seven colossal outdoor installations by a group of Belgian artists, including the remarkable Last Supper by Belgium sculptor Albert Szukalski - installed in 1984.
