Located just 3.5 miles off Route 66, the extraordinary, eccentric collection of totem poles is the work of Oklahoma folk artist Ed Galloway. The centrepiece is a spectacular 90-ft tall construction - making it the World's Largest Concrete Totem Pole - and features brightly coloured animals as well as portraits of Native Americans. Galloway moved here in 1937 and carried on building totems until his death in 1961.

      If you go:
Admission to the park is free but there's a characterful museum and gift shop where contributions to the park's upkeep are very welcome. The park is open Monday-Saturday 11:00am to 3:00pm and Sunday 12:30pm to 4:00pm.
