• Field House - St. Louis, Missouri

      The Field House
Built around 1845, this was the home of two prominent residents of St. Louis. Roswell Field was the attorney who argued for Dred Scott in the notorious case that was first decided in the courthouse a few blocks away. His son Eugene was a children's poet best known for writing 'Little Boy Blue', 'Wynken Blynken and Nod' and 'The Toys'. This house, appropriately, displays Nineteenth Century toys as well as other historical relics.

      If you go:
Hours vary, especially during the winter, and at times the house is shown by appointment only. Call in advance to see if you need to make a reservation.
