• Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens - San Marino, California

      The Huntington Library houses the extensive collection of scholarly books and manuscripts and artwork collected by Henry E. Huntington. He was a businessman who built a financial empire in the early 1900s. Famous works like Thomas Gainsborough's "Blue Boy" are showcased here. You can walk through 120 acres of botanical gardens, with 12 specialized gardens like the Chinese, Japanese, and Rose gardens. This is an amazing oasis in a metropolitan area and deserves a leisurely visit.

      Admission. Discounts for groups, seniors, students and children under 12. Parking is free. Hours 10:30 - 4:30 during the summer and weekends in winter. 12-4:30 weekdays. Closed Tuesdays. Food available; reservations required for the Rose Garden Tea Room two weeks in advance. Wheelchairs available; call to reserve.
