Boomtown Casino and Hotel - Verdi, Nevada

A vintage casino/hotel, Boomtown Casino feels homey, yet offers plenty of wagering options, restaurants, entertainment acts, and fun non-gambling games for all ages. In this writer's experience, Boomtown offers more than the usual cash drawings and other other incentives. The hotel rooms are of excellent quality at very reasonable rates. There is also an RV park on the premises.

If you enjoy bicycling, there are some rather strenuous bike trails nearby, sometimes running along the beautiful Truckee River. (If you want to bike into downtown Reno, ask one of the seasoned bikers you'll encounter about how to avoid the big detour through Verdi.)
