Herbert Hoover National Historic Site & Presidential Museum and Library - West Branch, Iowa

The Herbert Hoover NHS is located at the birthplace of Herbert Hoover, 31st president of the United States. After a stop at the visitor center, you can visit the cottage where he was born, his gravesite and the Presidential Museum and Library. Hoover came under much criticism and, later, great acclaim. If you go:
Open daily from 9 to 5 except major holidays. Free except for presidential museum. Wear comfortable walking shoes for the walking tour and to see the grounds plus walk through the 81-acre tall grass prairie. Free audio for walking tour available. Food and shopping in the adjacent West Branch's historic commercial district.
