Artist Point, Yellowstone - Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Artist Point offers one of the classic views of Yellowstone National Park. Recently restored to improve accessibility and safety, this natural promontory looks up along the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River to the majestic 308-foot higher Lower Falls. For many visitors the most memorable aspect of the view is the brilliant color of the mineral-rich yellow and orange rock through which the river has carved the canyon.

If you go:
Turn off the Grand Loop Road onto South Rim Drive and follow this for 2 miles. Artist Point is an easy stroll from the end of the road.
