Teepee Rest Stop, River Road - Big Bend Ranch State Park, Texas

The Teepee rest stop just west of Lajitas on the River Road affords excellent views of the Rio Grande in both directions, as well as obvious photo opportunities as a classic roadside attraction in its own right. These distinctive shelters - complete with benches and tables - were built in the 1960s as a result of Lady Bird Johnson's Highway Beautification Act.
