Fort Selden State Monument sits near the resting spot for Pedro Robledo, who was buried on 21 May 1598. The fort, which is located along the Camino Real, was established in 1865. The stark ruins clearly show that there isn't much left of Fort Selden, but the vistor Ccnter is full of information about the history of the fort and what life was like for its residents. The ten minute movie communicates the history of the fort quite well. Fort Selden tidbit: Douglas Mac Arthur lived at the fort when his dad commanded the fort in the late 1880s. Fort Selden was abandoned in 1891.
