This incredible landscape - the rock formations genuinely look like goblins or gnomes - has been created through millions of years of erosion by wind and water. The main observation point provides an excellent overview of the valley but you're encouraged to explore the formations close up. In some places the goblins are so closely packed that they form a maze; in other areas the scenery opens up to offer amazing views of the hoodoos, the neighboring buttes and the cliffs that overlook the valley.

      If you go:
There are three relatively easy trails among the goblins; there's also a visitor center and campground with restrooms and heated showers.
