Upper Emerald Pool, Zion National Park
The highest of the three pools along the Emerald Pools trail system, Upper Emerald Pool is well worth the extra effort, its green water and spectacular cliffs creating a surprise view as you reach the top of the trail. The first section of the 1.5 mile one-way hike is paved, the upper parts are rocky and - in places - fairly steep, although perfectly accessible for most people.

      If you go:
As tempting as the water may look, swimming/paddling is no longer allowed.

Wow, what a lovely photo. Makes me yearn for making the trip to Zion NP soon.
