      St. Louis City Museum
The first thing you notice is the odd assortment of items mounted on the building's rooftop, including a ferris wheel, a giant praying mantis and a school bus dangling precariously over the edge. And then you see the aircraft with people climbing on them and between them. This is definitely not your average museum. The odd and delightful attractions inside include Enchanted Caves, World Aquarium, Art City, Circus Harmony, a restored 1924 Wurlitzer Pipe Organ, the Tree House, and the world's largest pencil.

      If you go:
Dress comfortably, with footwear suitable for climbing and exploring. Open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. If you want to see the second largest pencil, check out Wytheville, Virginia!
