The city of Albuquerque is known, among other things, for the Balloon Fiesta, which fills the skies with hot air balloons every October. The newly opened Anderson Abruzzo International Balloon Museum, located near the balloon launching site, pays tribute to the history, science and magic of ballooning and lighter-than-air flight. Every Wednesday morning, the museum hosts Stories in the Sky, a pajama story-time for kids. There are also special activities for seniors.

      If you go:
Closed Mondays and major holidays. Open 9:00 to 5:00 except during Balloon Fiesta, when open 6:00 to 6:00. Admission is only $4 for adults ($3 for New Mexico residents).
