The only museum of its kind, the Frontier Culture Museum re-creates life on the American frontier over three centuries with authentic residential structures, livestock and craftsmanship presented by costumed interpreters. The Old World section pays tribute to four cultures of immigrants who contributed to the American melting pot: English, German, Irish and African. Each of these is represented by interpreters from that culture. The American section portrays life on the frontier after these cultural elements had established themselves in the New World. Most of the buildings are of genuine period construction, transported from their original locations, including one built in England in the 1600s.
