Ore samplerIt's a double-chuted ore sampler!

This device belonged to pioneer geologist Levi Noble, who worked in the Death Valley region. By pouring ore into the top, two samples emerged through the alternating chutes below. Both samples could then be assayed to establish the ore's content.

The ore sampler is on display in the Visitors Center& Museum maintained by the Chamber of Commerce in Shoshone, California.
