It's a print
dryer, but we discovered it in the gold-mining town of Randsburg, California.
Tim Powers acquired the device when he recently bought three turn-of-the-century
buildings in Randsburg, including the barber shop, which still housed a
vintage barber chair.
Wet prints
ride the canvas over the drum, which dries them. It's an obsolete machine,
but newer versions perform the same function.
