The Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California A rainstorm blew through Los Angeles, but it's moved on, leaving clear skies. More volunteers have arrived at the Rose Bowl, and the 50 oarsmen who will ride on Thailand's float practiced elaborate rowing routines and chanting. Daily

The Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California Today we were interviewed by the staff of Rampage, the student newspaper at Temple City High School. Float builders showed us the inside of their trucks, where they are storing decorating materials like raspberry powder, corn meal, and colorful spices used to cover the surface of the floats. Tonight the float built by students at California State Polytechnic University will arrive after its journey from Pomona, California. Daily

The Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California Pasadena enjoyed the best weather in North America today: sunny, warm and clear. The Rose Bowl parking lot was a popular testing ground for dozens of Christmas bicycles, in-line skates, and toy cars. Float decorators started trickling in in the afternoon. By tomorrow their numbers will swell into the hundreds. Merry Christmas! Daily
