Delta, a small town on the western side of the Rockies
known as "City of Murals," is located about
halfway between Grand Junction and Black Canyon of
the Gunnison National Park in Colorado. The downtown
area has over twenty buildings that are listed on
the local, state and national historic register. A
number of local artists have painted murals depicting
historic scenes on several of these older buildings.
During a recent fly-and-drive roadtrip, Gerald Thurman
visited Delta and captured images of several of these
murals. Touring guides to Delta's murals can be picked
up at the Delta Visitor center located at 2250 Highway
50 in downtown Delta. Additional
attractions are listed here.
