Ranching Scene Mural

The town of Campo is located in the southeast corner of Colorado in the Comanche National Grasslands. Campo is about six miles north of the Oklahoma panhandle and about 20 miles west of the Kansas border. US Highways 287 and 385 pass north/south through Campo. This mural is located on the north wall of the Campo Café. What is fascinating about this view is the perspective of the path that leads to the barn. Gerald Thurman reports that no matter where you view the mural -- left or right side or from the front -- the path seems to move so that start of the path is directly in front of you. Gerald took a series of photographs of this mural that show this visual effect. You can view them here.
