Barstow, California is another western city with a
long tradition of community mural projects. Kathy
Fierro drew the outlines of this mural, and then about
a dozen local muralists completed the painting in
ten-and-a-half hours. This
page shows the muralists creating their masterpiece.
Barstow's Main Street is also historic Route 66.
Visitors can take a
walking tour of eight murals depicting historical
scenes. Take
a virtual tour here.
