Default Road trip music

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and I was wondering if anyone has any favorite songs or music they listen to on road trips. I plan to go on one in late June after I get out of college. I am currently making a list of songs for the journey. The songs listed below is what I have listed so far.

1. Go your own way by fleetwood mac
2. Running up that hill by kate bush
3. 500 miles by the proclaimers
4. Building A Mystery by Sarah McLachlan
5. American Pie by Don McLean

I am open to suggestions if anyone has any. ;)

Audio is part of the experience -- Welcome to the Great American RoadTrip Forum -- thanks for contributing part of your song list. Here are a few more ideas:

Classical compilations inspired by specific roads

Music that transforms car rides into roadtrips
Gen's List You really have to take a look at her suggestions!
Various Members from 2001

There are several hundred songs in the lists shown above -- hope that gets you started.

Default Favorites and new ones as well

I have quite a few songs that get played on a regular basis when out on the road. However, almost every trip can be brought back to mind by some unexpected song that I heard on the trip. One time (Yellowstone, '97) it was a hard rock version of "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash -and- "One Piece at a Time", also by Johnny Cash. Usually these songs end up in the play list as well, keeping fresh the memories of trips past while encountering new and strange locations.
