  1. Default Some questions about cars, and bunkbeds...

Hello. I am driving across America with my very best friend over the course of roughly 2 1/2 glory filled monthes.

We plan on buying a Dodge Ram Van and building bunk beds in the back, but that's neither here nor there...

    My question is:

Is it illegal in any states for the driver of the car not to be a) the registered owner, or b) not insured directly on that car (but insured in general).

Also, what are the top 3 "DONTS" associated with retaining a vehicle for trans-continental travel?

For [a], I've never heard of any problems with this - or nobody would rent a car!
For [b] - I believe you'd have to check with the insurance company's policy on this one. You may be better off just having both of you listed on the policy, to save headaches if problems arise.

    Enjoy your trip!
