In today's age of DSL's, burners, and mp3 engines, here are some suggestions for good road music. I'll leave out obvious ones, but I'll include some rare tracks for the kazaas, groksters, and limewires among us.

Bob Dylan-Santa Fe, One More Cup of Coffee, Hava Negilah Blues

    The Gourds-El Paso

    Paul Simon- Graceland (unplugged)

    Sam Kinison- World Hunger skit

Neil Young-Unknown Legend, F**kin' Up (live acoustic)

Uncle Tupelo- Graveyard Shift, New Madrid

Jay-Z- I Just Wanna Love Ya

    George Gershwin- Rhapsody in Blue

    Kenny Rogers- Condition

    Gomez- Las Vegas Dealer, California

Sinatra and Basie-Please Be Kind, Nice Work

    Johnny Cash- Tennessee Stud,

Grateful Dead- Terrapin Station Suite, The Other One (live)

    Beastie Boys- Brass Monkey

Kiss- Cold Gin (but don't get any ideas!)

Arlo Guthrie- Coming to Los Angeles

    Counting Crows- Omaha (acoustic)

Metallica- Master of Puppets, And Justice For All

    Miles Davis- Nefertiti

    Mystikal- Danger

Billy Bragg- Accident Waiting to Happen (let's hope not!)

    Wilco- Being There (Disc Two)

Billy Bragg and Wilco- Mermaid Ave (Vols I and II)

Wyclef Jean- Gone Till November (Radio Version)

    Stones- 19th Nervous Breakdown

Radiohead- Everything In Its Right Place

    Nirvana- Lake of Fire (unplugged)

Red Hot Chili Peppers- Stone Cold Bush

Bruce Springsteen- Youngstown (hbo special live)

    Ryan Adams- To Be Young

Waylon Jennings- Dukes of Hazard Theme Song

That should get you started. Don't forget to stock up on music and check your stereo, disc changer, cassette player for wear.

Default the road album i can't resist

One album I've recently become hooked on is Tori Amos's "Scarlett's Walk" which is baswed on a premise of traveling the country. The soundmanages to really capture an "americanb" feel and flows beautifully
