Hi, I am thinking about driving to Denver (from LA) next May for a business trip. I've never done that route it worth the gas and time (over flying)?

Oh Yah, it's way worth it! If you are in a hurry, the most direct route is north on I-15 into central Utah and then East on I-70 into Denver and, except for the first stretch of desert, that is very scenic all the way. I even enjoy the stark beauty in the desert but many folks don't. If you have a little more time, I would go east on I-40 to Flagstaff, northeast on US-89, 160, and 666 to Durango, then north on US-550 to Montrose, east on US-50 to Poncha Springs and then northeast on US-285 to Denver. There may be a more spectacular, scenic route in the 48 continental states but if so, I've never seen it and it rivals anything you'll find in Alaska. If you are going in early May, check ahead for weather. By mid-to-late May, that should not be a major factor. Have a great trip.
