  1. Default Chicago to Nags Head North Carolina trip this summer?

I'm looking for any updated advice on the best routes in terms of time and traffic going from Chicago to North Carolina (OBX). Our goal is less traffic, fastest route and one overnight stop along the way.

    Thank you,

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

The route for your trip really is the same route I recommended in the post you previously saw from 2 years ago. I-65/I-70 to Dayton, US-35 across Ohio to WV and then I-64 all the way to the coast. There are bypasses around Indianapolis, Richmond, and Norfolk that could be a good idea too, to reduce traffic, if you are traveling through any time near rush hour.

Charleston, WV is roughly the halfway point, although you could also continue onto Beckley, WV if you want to cover a few more miles the first day.
