  1. Default Just cruising the south

Hi leaving next week on a 2 week driving cruise of the south..leaving Delaware, down to Norfolk thru NC, SC, GA down to gulf coast across to Pensacola, (my old navy days) to LA then up thru smokey mountains and back home..No big cities, no interstates if possible, just back roads, scenic stuff, civil war, festivals, flea markets, things to do. We want to see the southerns states at its best. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Those are your essential tool in any RoadTrip planning process. Start by marking all the places you know you want to visit. Then connect the dots. Then look for more places of interest and scenic routes along the lines connecting the dots. Repeat until you've got as many sites and roads as you think you want.
If you don't have any maps, you may be able to pick up some at AAA (free to members), or you might prefer a road atlas such as a Rand McNally.. Good maps are invaluable when planning a trip.
