    Welcome to RTA!

The "best" routes are the ones that take you to the attractions you want to see.

GLC put it about as bluntly as can be said, it's impossible for us to tell us what might be the "best" routes for your trip, without knowing anything about your plans. There are quite literally millions of potential routes between the states you've listed, but without knowing anything about the specific places you want to go, how much time you have, and some general idea of what you hope to get out of this trip, it's just not possible for anyone to give you any sort of meaningful advice. The more you can tell us about your plans, the more others will be able to help.

Default Good maps will help you.

The first thing you should do is get hold of good detailed maps, such as are produced by AAA and Rand McNally - or you might prefer a road atlas. Mark up all the places you want to see and join the dots, then find routes along those lines and see what other places there are which may interest you inbetween the points.

Good maps will have all this information on them - historical, natural and touristy attractions - as well as all the roads and small towns along the way. You can then choose to drive the old US highways, the interstates or the scenic routes, all of which are marked on maps. The internet will help you research each of these routes and places.

You will learn so much about the country you will traverse; detail you will never see on a small screen. Good maps are invaluable during the planning process, and essential when on the road. Don't bhe tempted to rely on your electronics. Many have done so at their peril - some fatal.

When you have the major sights and routes marked on your maps,, the experts here will help you refine the trip and fill in the gaps.

But as already mentioned, the start has to come from you - where you want to go, when. why, and for how long are all important for us to help you achieve the purpose of your trip.
