  1. Default Chicago - Milwaukee - Sturgis ???

    Hello every one ..

It is time to plan my second road trip to the states. This time it is going to be riding rather than driving.

Me and few friends are travelling to the States to attend the 75th Sturgis Bike Week in August 2015. The plan so far is to land in Chicago rent the bikes and ride to Milwaukee to visit the H-D museum/factory and then to head to Sturgis and perhaps riding back to Chicago.

Would appreciate any hints to start my research and planning .. what routes to take? cities to stay overnight ? places to visit ?

    Thnx in advance

Welcome Back to the RTA Forum!

How much time are you planning for the trip, and how far are you comfortable going in a day on a bike?

I-94/I-90 the the direct path from Chicago/Milwaukee to Sturgis. There are several 2 lane roads that run parallel to the Interstate. US-14 is one option that you could consider, which I think you'd especially enjoy on a motorcycle in Southwest Wisconsin. In Southeast Minnesota, MN-16 is another scenic route that is an easy detour off I-90.
