  1. Default Rough Itinerary RV trip from Seattle to Glacier Nat. Pk.

    G'day,
We are planning to rent a C19 RV in Seattle for around 2-3 weeks and head to Mt. Rainier/Kalispell/Glacier Nat. Pk./Flathead lake/Bonners ferry/Nth. Cascades Nat. Pk. then down to Olympic Nat. Pk. before returning the RV in Seattle and we are looking at doing this in early July. We have driven larger RV's in the States before but think the smaller one would be more suitable for this trip.
One of our main interests on this trip will be doing some hiking at most of the places.
Any suggestions regarding our itinerary would be appreciated.

    Default Nice trip.

Hello and welcome to the RTA forums !

With up to 3 weeks you should have a nice amount of time for exploring out of the vehicle. Depending on how much time you wish to spend in each place you could possibly create a slightly larger loop and visit Yellowstone NP and The Tetons, maybe visit Cascades on the way out and Mt Ranier on the way back towards Olympic NP. You seem to have a good idea of what you like so what type of suggestions are you looking for, any specific questions ?

  3. Default Slight change

Thanks Dave for your input and will probably head north as we have to pick up the MH in Everett so will continue north
to the Cascades then across towards GNP, really don't need to go to Yellowstone as have visited there on our last RV trip,
so hopefully should easely cover the loop in 2 to 3 weeks. Really did not have any specific questions at this stage, except
regarding the RV size as was thinking the C19 would possible be more suitable for this trip than a 23?

Default An advantage in Glacier NP.

If you are OK with less interior space then the main advantage of the C19 is that you will be permitted to drive the 'Going to the Sun' road in Glacier NP where the lenght restriction is 22ft and the width restriction is 8ft. [The C19 is not as wide as standard and comes in at 7 1/2 ft I believe, but please check for yourself.] Even so you would have to consider the rock overhangs in a taller vehicle found along sections of the road and you could opt for a 'Red bus' tour instead.

Thanks for that and I think you are right about the width of the C19, even so we would possibly consider doing the tour instead of concentrating on the driving.

The Red Bus and Sun tours cost money, but they also have a free shuttle system. Details are on the NPS site.
