  1. Default Fall Foliage Drive from Dallas

Can you please suggest places where I can see the fall foliage near Dallas? Maybe a day trip? Or should I plan for a night halt?

    Thanks in advance!

I have no first hand experience of Texas in the Fall, or at any other time as a matter of fact, but Lost Maples State Natural area comes up a few times, as in this RTA report. That would require an overnight stay and here are some other State park options. Here are some other recommendations including the Ouachita Mountains in Arkansas. The Talimena scenic byway from near Talimena OK towards Mena AR on OK1/AR88 looks pretty good ! Again you would need an overnight stop.

Like I said, I haven't been, but hopefully the links will help get you started.

I would recommend a night halt somewhere. Arkansas is probably best and closest place to see this from Dallas...
