For those who haven't heard, the new eastern span of the San Francisco - Oakland Bay Bridge will replace the old span next week.
The cutover event will close the bridge for several days. Folk planning on driving eastward from San Francisco to visit the East Bay or points east should plan an alternate route (over the Golden Gate and Richmond Bridges, or over the San Mateo - Hayward Bridge).
Closure starts Wednesday, 8/28 at 8pm and is projected to run through Tuesday, 9/2 at 5am.
BART will be running 24 hours during this period, for those only needing to make excursions to BART-able locations in the East Bay.
