Thread: Spring Trip

  1. Default Spring Trip

I would like to visit the Nat. Parks of Utah this spring and then go onto Yellowstone. Leaving from Phoenix, Az. Any interesting routes lodging, points of interest appreciated. Traveling by car. Leaving around May 1 2013. Thanks, Gary

Hello and welcome to the RTA forums !

A couple of important points will be whether this is a one way or round trip and how much time you have available for it ? With round trip it's good to take a different route each way and in this case you could see Grand canyon, Lake Powell, Zion, Bryce canyon, Salt lake City and the Tetons on the way up and Flaming Gorge, Dinosaur NM, Arches, Canyon lands and Monument valley on the way back. Plenty more to choose from as well as interesting routes so I would suggest you do a little more research and then fill us in with a bit more detail.

You will also need to take into consideration that Yellowstone does not fully open until late May into June as Spring weather comes late to there. If it's possible it might be worth postponing your trip for 2 or 3 weeks when there should be more of the park open.
